MS DOS Command: PATH

Description

Displays or sets a search path for executable files.

Syntax

PATH [[drive:]path[;...][;%PATH%]

PATH ;

Parameters

[drive:]path Specifies the drive and directory to set in the command path.
; Specifies the ';' separator to separates directories in the command path.
%PATH% Specifies the Window XP to append the command path to the existing set of directories listed in the PATH environment variable.

Remarks

Type PATH ; to clear all search-path settings and direct cmd.exe to search only in the current directory.

Type PATH without parameters to display the current path. Including %PATH% in the new path setting causes the old path to be appended to the new setting.
